Ok so this isn’t me. This is my little brother. I hate to admit it but he is better than me at water skiing.

Lake Powell

I remember briefly mentioning Lake Powell when I taught my class about places to see in America. My family went last summer and I wanted to put some pictures up so that you could get a taste of what it is like. Utah has the third most national parks (I think) in the United States. In the north we have the beautiful Rocky Mountains which make for some really good skiing in the winter (remember I told you about the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah). We also have the Great Salt Lake which is the second saltiest body of water in the world.

In Southern Utah we have a much different landscape. In the south we have stunning red and orange sandstone rock formations that have come to be the image of America’s southwest. One famous place you might know that looks similar to the landscape in southern Utah, is the Grand Canyon although it is not in Utah. Famous places in southern Utah are Lake Powell, Moab, Bryce Canyon, Arches National Park, Capitol Reef, and Zion’s National Park. Speaking of Zion’s, I read an article that Zion’s National Park has become a sister park with Danxiashan 丹霞山 National Park in the northern part of Guangdong. Check out the article  here.

My family usually goes to Lake Powell once a year. We haul a boat from our house for about 5 hours. Lake Powell is mostly in Utah but some parts are in Arizona. Our favorite things to do in Lake Powell are water ski, wake board, and cliff jump. We spend all day out on the boat and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I am going to add pictures but I haven’t had too much experience with this site so hopefully I can get them up there!

好久不见!

December 17th, 2009 | Uncategorized | No Comments »

It has been a long time since I have seen or talked or written to any of my friends in Huaihua. And for that I apologize! I really do intend to stay in contact with you all. If you have any questions about western culture or America or you want a foreign opinion, I would be more than happy to help you out. I am going to try real hard to update you on my life and to post some pictures on here. I have had some difficulty posting pictures on here. I also hope that China doesn’t block “blog.com” like they did “blogspot.com.”

I took the LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) two weeks ago. Boy am I glad that is over! My plan is to go to Law School next fall. My first choice would be to go to one of the two Law Schools in Utah but if I can’t get in I think I will stay somewhere near the west coast for school. Meanwhile, I am substitute teaching and looking for another job. I just had my 26th birthday on the 9th of this month. I feel so old! 老不死。I have used up more of my twenties than I have left! Christmas is coming soon. I will keep you updated with that.

So that is my life for right now. Again, I will try to post stuff on here as often as I can.

First Entry!

Hello everyone. I apologize for my long absence. I meant to maintain a blog but life gets busy and I slack off sometimes! Hopefully this website is not blocked in China. I will be putting up pictures when I can!
